Annick got off Freeway 15 and drove down Main Street in Las Vegas. She and Tom both stuck their heads out their windows and gawked at the humongous buildings and hotels. "Ooh, ooh!" Tom exclaimed, pointing at Caesar's Palace. "Can we stay there?" "Sure, I guess," replied Annick, not able to help letting a small giggle escape her at Tom's happy expression. She parked in the visitor lot and handed Tom the debit card. "Go get us two rooms, adjoining if possible, ok? I'm going to go search for the other girls." Annick pulled into a gas station a little past the city limits outside of Topeka, Kansas just before noon. She was exhausted, having driven for three days straight, and very hungry. So hungry in fact, she grabbed the first thing she saw when she went in the small store to pay for the gas. It was only after she had consumed half of what she had bought did she realize that she had been eating Cheetos. Argh!!! Freaking gross. some of a new story...Tom looked up at the main building from next to the flagpole of his new school and growled. The building was enormous, about four stories high and seventy-five yards long. It was a rich cream color and looked to be made entirely of marble. The letter sent to his parents said that the stone was virtually indestructible, able to withstand even a nuclear blast. The main doors were about eight feet high and colored a deep burnished gold. Tom looked up at the lone flag flapping in the wind and growled again. He hated everything about the school, from the raven on its flag to the many trees surrounding the campus. His parents had forcedsome of a new story...
